1968: Tata McGraw-Hill Publishing Company, a joint venture with McGraw-Hill, was established.
1970: Tata launched Tata Chemicals, a leading chemical company in India.
1984: Tata Tea acquired UK-based Tetley Group, making it one of the world’s largest tea companies.
Modern Era and Global Expansion (1991-Present)
1991: Ratan Tata became chairman, leading the group through significant international expansions.
2000: Tata Tea acquired Tetley, marking the group’s first major international acquisition.
2004: Tata Motors acquired the South Korean truck manufacturer Daewoo Commercial Vehicles.
2007: Tata Steel acquired Corus Group, a steel producer in Europe, for $12 billion.
2008: Tata Motors purchased the British automotive brands Jaguar and Land Rover from Ford.
2017: Natarajan Chandrasekaran became the chairman of Tata Sons, the holding company of the Tata Group.
