Persian cat breeding is a business plan where exotic persian cats will be bred to produce persian kittens and sell them to pet animal lovers specially cat lovers.  In this modern era, the popularity of keeping cats as pet animals is increasing day by day.  In this case, members of various aristocratic or elite families are more interested in keeping foreign persian cats than domestic cats.  So persian cat market in Bangladesh is increasing day by day and it will increase more in near future.  Hence, persian kitten breeding and selling is a very promising business.  A persian cat gives birth about three times a year.  and gives an average of 3-4 kittens each time.  The market value of each kitten is around 20-25 thousand taka.

In the initial stage, the business can be done by the entrepreneur himself or herself and a family member.  In this case, both of them need to have basic knowledge about cat rearing.  There are several significant means of marketing and selling persian kittens as a business product for profit generation.  e.g.: Social media marketing (facebook, instagram etc.), various advertisement websites etc.  It is possible to market and sell the product (Persian kittens) to potential customers very easily through etc.

This would be a business where persian cats would be bred and subsequently sold. First, we will buy mother Persian cats and breed them regularly to produce persian kittens. Persian cat lovers can purchase kittens from us and keep them as pets.

Our market area will be Dhaka Metropolitan City. We will market and sell our produced Persian kittens in a suitable manner within Dhaka Metropolitan City.

The business will initially be started by 5 mother persian cats.  This will require an investment of 2.75 lac taka. The said investment will be spent on the production of persian kittens by rearing and breeding mother Persian cats.

  • Foreign cats of good bloodline (such as Persian cats) can be purchased from conventional markets. 
  • All the necessary things for keeping cats can be purchased from various pet shops.

 Product Delivery: The kitten will be delivered to the buyer through own delivery. 

 Others day-to-day operations: feeding breeder cats and kittens regularly, taking care of them, cleaning litters regularly, giving vaccines as per vaccination schedule, providing treatment when sick etc.

5 mother Persian cats can be easily raised at home.  So, no separate house rent, electricity and service charges are required for this.

  • A mother Persian cat can give birth about 3 times a year.  On average, 3-4 kittens are born each time they give birth.
  • A good bloodline Persian cat kitten costs = 20,000-25,000 taka.
  • The market value of a mother Persian cat giving birth to an average of 4 kittens 3 times a year = around 2,00,000 taka.
  • Market value of 5 mother persian cats giving birth to 4 kittens 3 times in a year = 5*2,00,000 taka = 10,00,000 taka (yearly)

That is, it is possible to reach the break even point within 12 months of starting the business.
